Who We’re Looking For: A motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts well to change. You should possess excellent organizational skills and a strong commitment to customer service and safety. Candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision, learn quickly, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree in a Science-related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years in the industry, with a focus on asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, or mold/moisture inspections. Phase I ESA experience is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent communication, client management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. Spoken proficiency in Spanish preferred.
- Certifications:
- Asbestos: NC/ SC/ TN/ VA/ GA Asbestos Inspector / NC Supervising Air Monitor / NC & SC Management Planner licenses or ability to obtain.
- Lead: NC & SC Lead Inspector/Assessor licenses or ability to obtain.
- Additional certifications like CHMM, 40 Hour HAZWOPER, 10/30 Hour Construction Safety and CIE/CMI are desirable but not required.
- Other Requirements:
- Mastery of the English language – written and spoken.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally work at heights greater than 6 feet (examples: ladders, rooftops, man-lifts, scaffolding).
- Ability to occasionally work in confined spaces (examples: crawlspaces, attics).
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to walk up/down multiple flights of stairs.
- Ability to complete all mandatory trainings, including safety training.
- Availability for off-hour emergency work.
- Respond as a member of the Hillmann 24-hour disaster response team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain certifications and licenses.
- Respond to client emergencies as needed.
- Conduct thorough investigations related to Industrial Hygiene, including indoor air quality, mold/moisture inspections, asbestos surveys, and lead-based paint inspections.
- Develop remediation plans, report findings, and ensure compliance with industry guidelines.
- Perform air, surface, and water sampling according to USEPA, OSHA, NIOSH, and industry analytical methods.
- Perform employee exposure monitoring for various environmental hazards.
- Conduct employee noise exposure assessments and monitoring.
- Execute Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and other environmental hazard evaluations.
- Other responsibilities as dictated.
