Hillmann’s Construction Risk Management group is headquartered in Atlantic Highlands, NJ while our Western Regional office is headquartered in Orange, CA. Our team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Architects provide an array of consulting services to major financial institutions, real estate owners and managers, and property developers nationwide. These services include pre-construction due diligence and construction documentation review, existing property assessments, as well as progress monitoring during construction.

We have an immediate need for a Project Manager to join our Construction Risk Management (CRM) group – Western Division based out of the Portland, Oregon area. Hillmann is a fast growing, team-oriented company and we’re looking for a motivated individual to grow with us.

The successful candidate will complete detailed reviews of pre-construction due diligence documentation, prepare comprehensive reports incorporating review of provided project documentation to ensure accuracy and an opinion of the associated construction risks, build and establish relationships with colleagues and existing and potential clients, promote a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, adapt, and overcome challenges, and develop their individual strengths and abilities to foster career growth.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • College Degree (or equivalent Baccalaureate degree) in Engineering / Construction Management / Architecture or equivalent career experience as a Construction Risk Manager
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience preferred
  • Well-spoken with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and/or tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent time and schedule management skills
  • Ability to deal directly with colleagues and clients in a professional, proactive, and diplomatic manner
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office/Teams
  • Valid DL and reliable transportation

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects with fluctuating due dates, requirements, and clients.
  • Assist or lead preparation of Plan and Cost Review Reports including review and assessment of pre-construction due diligence documentation including but not limited to construction drawings, construction agreements, budget and schedule.
  • Assist or lead preparation of monthly Site Observation Reports including review and assessment of project billing and supporting documents; onsite inspection conducted by project lead/ colleague.
  • Assist or lead preparation of Property Condition Assessments (PCA).
  • Integrating into ongoing projects in a supportive or lead role.
  • Frequent communication to clients and upper management regarding project status and overall workflow.
  • Work is anticipated to be 70% desk based with remainder split between field work, manager support, or additionally assigned special projects.
