We have an immediate need for a Project Manager to join our Construction Risk Management group based in Orange, CA. This is a hybrid position with travel to the office and site inspections by car and the potential for travel by plane. This position offers the flexibility of working from home around scheduled site visits and meetings, with some office time requirements. Overnight trips are available for those who like to explore new cities. Hillmann provides travel reimbursements, rental cars, and all equipment needed for the position.

The Construction Risk Management focused service lines provide Clients with expertise and opinions discussing the risks associated to construction projects throughout its lifecycle.

The successful candidate will have a have a passion for construction, a strong understanding of construction risks and methods, and be comfortable communicating project updates and concerns to stakeholders via verbal and written methods.

Our primary deliverables include preconstruction Plan and Cost Reviews, monthly Site Observation Reports during construction, and Property Condition Assessments. We also provide additional specialized reporting options such as Seismic Risk Assessments and Construction Completion Reports among others.

The Project Manager will complete detailed reviews of project documentation; prepare comprehensive reports assessing the risks; conduct onsite inspections to observe work in progress or existing conditions; establish and maintain relationships with colleagues and Clients; be an active participant in a positive learning atmosphere; share their skillsets by teaching others; identify organizations which the company can support as part of our Charitable Giving; and enjoy being part of a team of like-minded individuals focused on achieving goals and celebrating each other’s successes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering / Construction Management / Architecture (or equivalent comparable experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience with Degree; 8-10 years of experience without degree
  • Well-spoken with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Organized with ability to work on multiple projects and/or tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to deal directly with Clients in a professional and proactive manner
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Suite – Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Valid DL and reliable means of transportation
  • Ability to undergo training in the Orange, CA office

Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess construction and architectural agreements, plans, and specifications, hard cost budgets, and construction schedules, etc.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to monitor construction and recommend the release of construction funds.
  • Conduct walkthrough surveys of existing buildings to assess the condition of major systems and prepare estimated costs to remedy building conditions.
  • Maintain excellent client communication.
  • Help build up the business in the area by meeting with clients.
